Carol Christian Poell "Sweatsuit" (SS04)

US$400.00
Sold

A very interesting “sweatsuit” from the avant garde designer Carol Christian Poell. This particular garment blends two menswear items; the classic suit jacket and the modern sweater. This garment features a suit jacket pattern, made in a very soft cotton terry, with a “sweater pocket” uniting the two front panels of the jacket.

This jacket pertains to the Spring Summer 2004 collection titled "Mainstream-Downstream." This thought-provoking collection showed “sleeping” models flowing down the Naviglio Grande to reveal the mysterious clothing. The clothing, bright and colourful, was a stark contrast to the pale skin of the models. This unsettling collection highlighted the superficiality of the fashion industry, criticizing the way in which the human body is treated as a commodity.

Size: 48, fits like L

Condition: 10/10 with original tags

Colour: Dark Gray
