The perfect oversized coat. Way before all Balenciaga’s oversized silliness there was Dries Van Noten Romantic Silliness, which this particular coat is a perfect example of. ‘

Being served Belgian beer and French fries, spectators in attendance for Van Noten’s FW93 show saw his sensibility and playfulness in full display. Smiling men and women walked the runway in oversized knits and scarves, earth tones, bright colours, classic tailored suits and big coats. This season had it all, from the most subtle outfits to those that would request a second or third look if you saw them on the street. The coat we have today pertains to the latter category.

Featuring a very oversized fit, this beautiful coat is arguably the star of the show. It is masterfully constructed so that its overflowing size is carefully contained. From the front it may look unassuming, but once the model turns just slightly you can appreciate the silliness of the size. Featuring a nice nylon construction with curved arms and two big front pockets.
