Rick Owens Knit Veil Mask (FW12)
This is one of many Rick Owens Knit veils. The idea of a “brutalist veil” is something that the American designer has been playing with for decades. Made out of delicate knits and issued throughout many collections, in many colorways, and in many knitted configurations, these delicate masks serve the purpose of partially obscuring the face of the wearer in a soft way, contributing to the general aura of his clothing.
This particular mask comes from FW12 “Mountain” and is one of the most recognizable issues of the model. Featuring a series of vertical knit “stripes” connected to each other through diagonal threads, which kind of resembles a spider web. The mask is seemingly a continuation of a tighter knit “hat,” which means you can wear it in a few different ways (i.e. mask lifted up).

Some piling visible (see pictures) barely noticeable while wearing. Some damage to connecting threads, but should be easily replaced by a professional.
